Pirelli today received two significant distinctions at the global level for its commitment in the area of ESG, that is, environmental, social and governance matters. This year, in fact, the company was again awarded gold in SAM’s 2020 Sustainability Yearbook, which is published by S&P Global and takes into consideration the sustainability profiles of over 4,700 companies. It’s worth noting that Pirelli was the only company of the auto components sector, worldwide, to obtain the "Gold Class Distinction". The rankings are prepared each year based on the SAM Corporate Sustainability Assessment for the Dow Jones Sustainability indices, on which Pirelli in 2019 also achieved world sector leadership with a total score of 85 points compared with a sector average of 33. Always in the area of ESG, Pirelli was also recognized as the ESG Sector Leader in the FTSE4Good Index Series, ranked at the top of the Tyre and Consumer Goods sectors, with a rating of 4.6 points compared with a possible maximum of 5. Created by FTSE Russell, a company controlled by the London Stock Exchange, the FTSE4Good indices measure the ESG performances – environmental, social and governance - of companies in the world’s major markets and are a point of reference for investors to create and evaluate responsible investment funds and other related investment products.
